Technique - Gallery stone setting with wire and gems

In this free video tutorial I want to show you how to create a gallery prong setting using wire and a round cut gemstone. This technique is a clever way to set stones that do not have a drill hole. The setting can be used for other stone shapes as well so play around with it and see what works for you.

What you will need to practice this technique:

Wire:

• 1 gemstone. Size can be anything from  - 6 mm upwards, flatback or diamond cut.
• 0.6 mm (22 ga) square wire
• 0.4 mm (26 ga) wire

Tools required:

• Flush cutters
• Chain nose pliers 
• Flat nose pliers x
• 2 - Round nose pliers
