Technique - wire coil stone setting video tutorial

In this free video wire work tutorial I want to show you how to set a stone in coiled wire. I call this the lollipop or coiled stone setting. This wire wrapping technique is a clever way to set flat back or round cut stones that do not have a drill hole. The setting can be used for oval stones as well so play around with it and see what works for you.

What you will need to practice this technique:

Wire:

• 0.6 mm (22 ga) to 1 mm (18 ga) square wire (size dependant on size of the stone)
• Any size stone as long as the wire gauge is adjusted accordingly

Tools required:

• Flush cutters
• Chain nose pliers
